United States Coast Guard EmblemTo be accepted into the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, you must be at least 17 years old; be a citizen of the U.S. (either by birth or by naturalization); and pass a Personal Security Investigation.

ENROLLMENT APPLICATION – ANSC 7001 (5-15)

Use of the online Enrollment Application form is strongly encouraged.

  • If you have questions about a possible data entry review pages 10-16 of the above-referenced Enrollment Application for guidance. If you still have a question, contact the Flotilla Staff Officer for Human Resources (FSO-HR) or the Flotilla Commander (FC).
  • If you prefer you may print a copy of the form and manually enter the requested information. Please ensure that your hand-written entries as legible. When printing out the form, print it single-sided

The submitted form must contain original signatures. Do not sign any applications until you have met with your prospective FSO-HR or FC.

All signatures must be in BLUE ink.

Section IX of the Enrollment Application is entitled “Verification of U.S. Citizenship.” Citizenship may be proven by providing an original version of one of the seven documents identified in Section IX, Section B. You must bring the

New member exam - Complete the new member course and “open book” exam.

Use the following as reference guide for the open-book exam:

BOATING SAFETY COURSE

You will be required to complete a boating Safety Course. Options will be discussed by your FSO-HR or FC.

FORMER MEMBERS OF THE U.S. ARMED FORCES

Provide a copy of your of your DD-214, “Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty” if you have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, making sure that the copy of your DD-214 shows the entry in the “Reenlistment Code” block.

FLOTILLA MEMBERS ANNUAL DUES

You will be required to pay yearly membership dues. The payment of these dues will be discussed with you by the FSO-HR or the FC.

COAST GUARD AUXILIARY CONSENT FORM

Fill out and sign the Consent to Membership form from the Coast Guard Auxiliary Association, Inc. http://forms.cgaux.org/archive/cgaai-10.pdf

FINGERPRINT PROCESS

Three sets of fingerprints, taken on Coast Guard Fingerprint Cards, will be required to be submitted with your Enrollment Application. This requirement will be further discussed by your FSO-HR or FC.

These fingerprint cards are provided to the Director of the Auxiliary (DIRAUX) who in turn forwards the fingerprint cards to the Security Center (SECCEN) for investigation. This process can be lengthy for some members and quick for others, depending on various factors including the number of the different addresses of the applicant and foreign travel 

PHOTO FOR PICTURE ID

Your FSO-HR or FC will arrange to have a photo taken to be used for your ID

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Upon completion of the initial application process, you will be required to complete a list of required online Mandatory and FEMA courses (your FSO-HR, FC or Flotilla Staff Officer for Member Training (FSO-MT) will provide additional details).
